Plate Tectonics |
|
Have you ever looked at a globe or world map and noticed that the Earth’s landmasses look like pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle? Some landmasses seem to fit together, like the east coast of South America and the west coast of Africa. Were they connected at one time? If so, how did they move apart? Explore the links below to learn more about Earth’s drifting continents.
Watch the Continental Drift HERE!
This site will help you understand the four different kinds of plate boundaries.
1. When you arrive at this site, click on “plate tectonics” in the main menu. 2. Then, read through each of the topics (The Earth’s Interior, Theory of Continental Drift, The Different Tectonic Plates, etc) 3. Click on “Review Questions” when you have read everything and do the ten questions. You need to put in your name, but don’t put in your full name. Your initials or just your first name is enough. 4. Click on “Submit your answers” and see how you did. 5. How many did you get correct? Print this out and bring to class tomorrow. |
