Cynthia A. Cook is a product of the Alachua County School System of Gainesville, Florida. After graduating from Gainesville High School, she entered Florida A and M University in Tallahassee, Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Ms. Cook completed her Masters Program in Middle School Education with certifications in social studies, science and mathematics at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.

 Ms. Cook taught social studies and science for eighteen years and served as team leader for fifteen of the eighteen years. Ms. Cook served as an administrative assistant at Lincoln Middle School for two years while completing her certification in Educational Leadership at the University of Florida. In 1994, Ms. Cook was appointed assistant principal at Lincoln Middle School. In 1996, Ms. Cook moved to Alpharetta, Georgia to assist with the opening of Northwestern Middle School where she served as assistant principal.
