I was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. I began playing the violin in the 4th grade in the Dougherty County Public Schools. I am currently in my thirteenth year of teaching. This is my sixth year as Orchestra Director at Hopewell Middle School in Alpharetta. Prior to this appointment, I taught for two years at Sandy Springs Middle School and Spalding Drive Elementary. I began my teaching career in Macon, Georgia with the Bibb County Public Schools. During this time I served as director of the Bibb County Elementary Honor Orchestra and as the Orchestra Liaison for the Bibb County Music Department. In 2001, I was named Teacher of the Year for the Bibb County Music Department. I was also awarded the Beacon Light Award for outstanding service in the Bibb County Public Schools. I graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a B.M. in Violin Performance and from the University of Miami with a M.M. in Violin Performance. During my career, I have performed with several orchestras including the Miami Symphony, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Florida Symphony, Florida Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Savannah Symphony, Macon Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and the Cobb Symphony Orchestra. I am happily married and have two sons. I enjoy spending time with my family, as well as my three cats (Tabitha, Figaro, and Cleo). In my spare time, I enjoy reading, arts-n-crafts, dance, listening to music, and watching football (GO NOLES!!!).
