Dear Parents,
I hope everyone had a great summer. We have been working very hard to ensure that the school year gets off to a productive start!
Our eleven new teachers reported to work on Monday, August 9, for two days of orientation. They were joined by returning staff on Thursday,
August 12, for seven days of staff development and preplanning.
On the first day of school we welcomed close to 1200 students. Our actual projected enrollment is 1206 which we should meet within the next
several days.
The school system has asked that we emphasize the availability of Student Accident Insurance. The system "...is not liable or responsible
for student injuries/accidents or the medical expenses associated with such injuries/accidents occurring on District property...". This
information was given out on the Enrollment Verification Day. Please call the office if you need additional information.
Our school hours for student attendance are 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. We begin supervising students at 7:30. Early arriving students are
expected to sit in the cafeteria. The school office and phones are staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
Hopefully you have already joined our PTA. This very active and supportive group gives time and financial support that directly benefits
our instructional efforts. The PTA does not sponsor fund raisers during the school year so your one time contribution will be greatly
appreciated.
This school year, the district introduces an improved and more user-friendly way to learn about your student's grades, attendance,
discipline information and class schedule. Formerly known as ParentConnect, the new platform is called the Home Access Center.
